Not everything remains the same forever. Yet we are still surprised by it.
When things finally come together. When a relationship reaches fulfillment. When we manage to emerge from a difficult period. When peace, financial security, or harmony with ourselves finally arrives.
Almost without noticing, a wish is born within us: I hope this stays this way forever.
In times of abundance, it is easy to forget the cycle of life.
But life does not work that way.
Children grow up, parents grow older. Jobs change. Our bodies change, and so do our relationships.
What once mattered deeply may no longer move you today. What you fought for back then, you might not even ask for now. What once hurt may now be seen through different eyes.
Not only your circumstances have changed. You have changed.
Suffering arises when we try to hold back what has already begun to move on. We want to keep its place alive within us.
Meanwhile, the world around us teaches us again and again: what has fulfilled its time turns onward. Everything changes.
Life is in motion. Day and night are in motion. Every season has its purpose.
After the summer solstice, darkness does not begin.
Ripening begins.
Most of the growth has already taken place. What was built outwardly now deepens inwardly.
There is no mourning for the passing of the peak. Everything created in the light begins to transform into fruit.
Do we really believe that the purpose is to hold on forever to the most beautiful moments of our lives, to success, happiness, or fulfillment?
Or is it to be fully present in each of them while they are here?
In birth. At the peak. In the season of ripening. And beyond.
Life is a cycle.
We move with it because we are life itself.
We are part of the same movement that carries the seasons, the solstices, and all change.
