The moment someone declares, "I know the way, follow me", it's worth asking whether that path really leads to the truth or whether they simply want to turn their own path into the truth.

Today, there is a course, a method, a system and a ready-made explanation for almost everything. Even for how your consciousness works, why things happen to you, and what you should recognise, let go of, rewrite or think about differently.

And somehow, we keep arriving at the same point: someone builds a system out of what they have understood, experienced or believe to be true, and then starts teaching others how they should see themselves and the world.

There is certainly something to learn from this. I, too, have learned from many people and explored many different methods.

But to me, there is a huge difference between someone offering me a perspective that I can examine for myself and someone telling me how I function and what the truth about me is.

If you build a system based on what you believe to be true, for example about consciousness or weight loss, and then teach it to others, you are still giving the mind yet another template to follow.
