There are those who trust only in the effects of medication.
Others swear exclusively by herbal remedies.
Some consider sugar a poison and use sweeteners instead.
There are people who seek relief in a single substance.
Others feel anxious because of the bills for upcoming fixed expenses.
And there are spouses who sit silently at the dinner table,
yet never say goodbye to each other.
Who can say which path is the “right” one?
What they should do…
Can I judge someone who is still afraid to let go of a pill because it has been their lifeline so far?
Or someone who tries to soothe the pain of the soul with alcohol?
Or the one who collapses under the weight of unpaid bills?
Or those who bury their heads in the sand in a relationship that has already ended?
They seem like different paths, but they are driven by the same force: fear.
We fear the loneliness of the world.
We fear that there is no way back.
We fear what will happen if we step away from what is familiar.
We fear uncertainty.
We fear failure.
What happens if things are no longer the way they used to be?
What will become of us then?
I don’t believe anyone is on the wrong path when they are holding on to something.
I know what it feels like to be there.
And I also know what it means to build new trust within myself.
We all live in our own worlds.
Where we are right now is just a station.
And I believe we can all choose to place our faith somewhere new tomorrow:
in the belief that there is a way out,
that there is another possibility,
that we don’t have to remain in fear forever,
that we are not alone.
I believe in moving forward through love, attention, and encouragement.
Not through force. Not by telling others what to do.
And I believe that everyone’s time ripens in its own moment.
I stepped out once.
Just as others have.
Just as you are capable of doing too.
